We're looking for a Board Eligible Oncologist to provide ongoing coverage for our dedicated oncology service. This role combines comprehensive Monday-Friday outpatient clinic duties with hospital-based call responsibilities, focusing on a mix of hematology and solid tumor patients. - $500/hr
Start Date: As soon as credentialed - Ongoing
Schedule:
- Outpatient Clinic: Monday - Friday.
- Hospital Call: You'll be on call for the hospital, handling both phone calls and hospital-based responsibilities.
- Call Type: Call responsibilities are for clinic patients only, not for ER calls.
- Call Breakdown: Approximately 25% of your call will be Hematology-related.
- Callback Rate: Historically, the callback rate is around 5%.
- Call Structure:Weekday Call: Follows your outpatient clinic hours, extending into the night.
- Weekend Call: Involves both phone calls and required hospital presence.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Board Certification: Board Eligible (BE) in Medical Oncology.
- DEA Registration.
- Proven clinical experience in both hematology and solid tumor oncology.
- Comfortable managing a mixed caseload and handling inpatient call responsibilities.
- Proficiency with the Epic EMR system for comprehensive documentation.
Position Overview:
- Focus: Approximately 70% Oncology/30% Hematology.
- Patient Volume: Expect to see 15-20 patients per day in the outpatient clinic.
- New Consults: Typically 2 new consults per day, with dedicated appointment times (30 min / 45 min slots).
- Admissions: New patients will be admitted by the Oncologist (not APP).
- Average number of new consults: 4
- Average number of hospital patients per day: 3
