Cardiothoracic Surgery Locum Opportunity in Nevada

Summary:  

• Assist with the inpatient management of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients including preoperative, perioperative and postoperative care.
• Rotating 24 hour First Call for the CVT service among two
• First assist in CVT surgeries. 
• Round on inpatients, coordinate interdisciplinary care with Medical teams.
• Consult on ER patients, providing diagnosis, appropriate plan of care and referrals as appropriate.
• Order, interpret and analyze diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications as necessary.
• Works within a multidisciplinary team.
• Additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Schedule/Availability Requirements:

We will be looking for locums to start 9/25/25 and would prefer blocks of availability (2-3 months) at a time in order for the team to become comfortable with the locum.

Setting: Acute care hospital

Duties: see above

Days per month: 15-20

Required Procedures: All first assist capabilities for complex surgical procedures. 

EMR: Cerner

Support Staff: Clinic supervisor, acute care services director

Reason for Coverage: retirement and departures

Dealbreakers: no CVT experience

Travel Preferences:

Preferred Lodging: Do you have preferred hotels? No

Air Travel: Local, no flights? Doesn't matter.

Credentialing Information:

• Timeframe: 3 months for hospital credentialing
• Requirements: must be able to have obtain hospital credentials and have a PA or NP license in good standing. Must also have NV CS licensure for the NV Board of Pharmacy
• Credentialing with other facilities? Siena Campus
