A significant component of this role involves providing essential tele-neurology support to Critical Access Hospitals in Montana and Northern Wyoming. • Serve as the primary tele-neurology consultant for critical access hospitals in Montana and Northern Wyoming, performing remote neurological assessments for patients with acute neurological deficits.
  • Rapidly evaluate stroke patients to determine eligibility for thrombolytic therapies (e.g., TNK) and facilitate transfer to a higher level of care when necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, hospitalists, primary care providers, APCs, and Stroke RNs to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide clear and concise recommendations for diagnosis, treatment plans, and disposition.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document all patient encounters, assessments, and recommendations within the Cerner EMR System.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to stroke care and neurological emergency management.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in neurology and stroke care.

  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology Residency Program.
  • Board Certification in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (or equivalent recognized board).
  • Fellowship training in Vascular Neurology or Neurocritical Care is highly preferred.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in [State where your main hospital is located] and eligibility for licensure in Montana and Wyoming is required.
  • Strong experience in managing acute stroke, neurological emergencies, and general neurology inpatient consults.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in tele-neurology platforms and remote patient evaluation.
  • Expertise in acute ischemic stroke management, including familiarity with thrombolytic agents like TNK.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance to remote providers.
  • Proficiency with the Cerner EMR System is essential.

  • Ability to make rapid, critical clinical decisions under pressure.
