Interventional Radiology Locum Position in Grass Valley, CA- $500/hr
Start Date: July 14-16, 2025 - August 24, 2025
Schedule/Availability Requirements:
- Schedule/Shift times: 8a-430pm with protentional night call after 430p
- Any call? Yes, rarely ever called during the week
Submission Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible – Required
- CA Active license – Required
- Residency – Required
- BLS and DEA required during credentialing. CA Fluoroscopy: Required
- Clean Malpractice – Preferred
- Availability for the above dates – Required
Position Details:
- Setting: General Acute Care Hospital (Stroke Certified, not Chest Pain Center accredited, not a Trauma Level designation
- Duties: Hospital Coverage, we have a need for a Radiologist to cover the Hospital which involves the IR needs along with Stroke CT's and other procedures/availability. There is also the potential for a Radiologist to cover our Building 4 which is an outpatient building where a Radiologist has to be present for contrasted CT's and MRI's along with Breast biopsies.
- Required Procedures: lumbar punctures, barium studies, various centesis exams with drains and CT/US biopsies preferred
- IR Procedures (Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy Tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, Chest Tubes, Suprapubic Catheters); Biopsies (Thyroid, Lung, Other)
- EMR: Cerner
- Support Staff: Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) Nurses and Techs; We do have a large Radiology group in Sacramento that performs overflow and after-hours reads
- Admissions per day: 12-15
- Patients/day: ED Daily Volume is 85-90 patients/day, Average Daily Inpatient/Obs Census is ~50 patients (includes ICU and OB).
- Types of cases: Surgical, Medical, ICU, and OB
- Based on review of the last several months of volume,
- we would expect the following studies interpreted per day and procedures performed per day:
- TOTAL: ~70 studies/day + 5-8 procedures/day
BREAKDOWN of Daily Work:
- CT’s: 15-20
- XRays: 15-25
- US’s: 10-15
- MRI’s: 5-8
- IR: 5-8 procedures
