Job Title: Emergency Medicine Provider (PA or CRNP)
Job Description:
We are seeking five (5) highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistants (PAs) or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners (CRNPs) to join our Emergency Medicine team. This is an ongoing opportunity beginning July 1, 2025, offering a dynamic and challenging environment within our Emergency Department.
Our Emergency Department operates 24/7, and these positions are critical for providing comprehensive care. We are specifically looking to fill more night shifts and strongly prefer local providers who are familiar with the area.
Providers will function autonomously and independently, evaluating and treating patients of all acuity levels within the Emergency Room setting. This includes managing a diverse patient population and making critical clinical decisions. Successful candidates will also run codes alongside attending physicians, demonstrating proficiency in resuscitation efforts and critical care management.
Responsibilities:
- Independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages and acuities presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (laboratory, imaging, etc.).
- Develop and implement patient treatment plans.
- Perform minor procedures as appropriate to scope of practice and credentialing.
- Collaborate effectively with attending physicians, nurses, residents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and high-quality patient care.
- Actively participate in rapid response and code situations alongside attending physicians.
- Accurately and thoroughly document all patient encounters in the Epic EMR system.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Schedule:
Providers will work a rotating schedule with shifts including:
- 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM
- 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- 6:00 PM - 4:00 AM
- 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM
We are particularly interested in candidates available for evening and overnight shifts.
Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant (PA) license or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) license.
- Graduation from an accredited PA or NP program.
- Current NCCPA certification (for PAs) or ANCC/AANP Board Certification (for NPs) in an appropriate specialty.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required. ATLS preferred.
- Minimum of recent experience in an Emergency Department or acute care setting is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate and manage diverse patient acuities.
- Proficiency with Epic EMR system is essential.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
- Local candidates are strongly preferred.
