Interventional Cardiologist (Call & Cath Lab Focus)
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Interventional Cardiologist to join our team for an ongoing position, with a focus on specific procedural work in the cath lab and crucial call coverage. We require coverage starting July 30, 2025.
This role is ideal for an Interventional Cardiologist who excels in heart catheterizations and is looking for a structured schedule that combines procedural days with dedicated call blocks.
Schedule & Responsibilities:
The physician will integrate into a rotation that includes:
- Weekend Call: Every 3rd weekend, covering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Call starts at 5:00 PM on Friday and ends at 7:00 AM on Monday.
- Cath Lab Days: 1-2 days per rotation dedicated to the Cath Lab, from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
- Primary Focus: The locum physician will primarily perform heart catheterizations only.
- Case Volume: Anticipate approximately 7-8 total (inpatient/outpatient) cases per day on cath lab days.
- Night Call: 1-2 nights of call per rotation, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
- Clinic: While the coverage type is Call + Clinic, the description primarily focuses on procedural and call duties.
Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship, followed by an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship.
- Board Certification in Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (or equivalent recognized board) is required, or Board Eligibility if recently completed fellowship.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Demonstrated high proficiency in performing heart catheterizations.
Proficiency with the Epic EMR System is essential.
