Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist - Inpatient Hospitalist (7-on/7-off)


We are seeking a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide crucial inpatient hospitalist coverage on an ongoing basis. This is an excellent long-term locum tenens opportunity for a dedicated physician looking for a balanced "7 days on / 7 days off" schedule in a supportive unit.


Opportunity Highlights

  • Hospitalist Model: Work as an inpatient hospitalist, managing acute psychiatric needs.
  • Targeted Patient Age: Must be able to see patients 12 years and older (no younger pediatric patients).
  • Unit Size: Provide care within a dedicated 12-bed inpatient unit.
  • Long-Term Need: This position is needed until a new permanent provider has been successfully onboarded, offering stable, extended coverage.


Schedule & Responsibilities

  • Work Schedule: 7 days on, followed by 7 days off.
  • Daily Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM for inpatient duties (Monday - Sunday during your "on" week).
  • Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and treatment planning for adolescents and young adults in an inpatient setting. Respond to urgent psychiatric needs as part of the call rotation.


?Compensation

  • Overtime (OT) will be provided for hours worked beyond 8 hours per day.


Qualifications

  • Minimum Board Certification: Board Certified (BC) in Psychiatry, with subspecialty certification or extensive experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • DEA Registration.
  • Proven experience in inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry, comfortable managing patients aged 12 and older.
  • Proficiency with the Epic EMR system.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working within a hospitalist team.
