Description

Intensivist / Critical Care Physician


?We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Intensivist / Critical Care Physician to provide essential inpatient coverage for our team. This is a focused assignment from July 21, 2025, to November 8, 2025, with a clear no-call structure, offering a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Montana summer and fall.


The ideal candidate will have strong Surgical ICU experience, as you'll be working closely with our fellowship-trained Trauma Surgeons. This role is crucial to cover a provider going on maternity leave, and we prefer one provider to cover the entire assignment to ensure continuity of care.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive critical care management to patients within the Surgical ICU.
  • Collaborate effectively with Trauma Surgeons, residents, nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members.
  • Manage a diverse range of critical conditions, including post-surgical patients, trauma cases, and other complex medical issues.
  • Conduct daily rounds, develop and implement patient care plans, and perform necessary procedures.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document all patient encounters and interventions in the Cerner EMR System.
  • Participate in family discussions and provide compassionate care.


Schedule:

  • Coverage Needed: 3 shifts per week
  • Shift Times: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Day) and 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Night)
  • Availability: Day, night, and weekend shifts are available.


Qualifications:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Critical Care Medicine Fellowship (or Pulmonary/Critical Care, Internal Medicine with Critical Care boards).
  • Board Certification in Critical Care Medicine (or equivalent relevant board certification).
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in Montana (or eligibility to obtain one prior to start date).
  • Required: Significant and recent Surgical ICU experience.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and ATLS (if relevant) certifications.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, diagnostic abilities, and procedural skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Proficiency with the Cerner EMR System is essential.
