Pediatric Hospitalist Locum Opportunity in Minnesota

Specialty: Hospitalist-Pediatrician

Start Date: ASAP

Without MN license, credentialing may take up to 120 days

Contract Length: 6 months with option to extend

Shift Details: Daily 6a-6pm on site.

Schedule: Daily

Work Details: 

· Support staff: Will have Call Room and Support. Neonatologist on staff. They have varying hours.

They work independently during the shift. There is an NNP that staffs the NICU 24/7 but no NP for the well baby nursery.  

· Amount of coverage needed per month: FTE

· Patients per day: 9-13

*We have about 3,000 deliveries per year.

• Department description: Discontinuing their inpatient PEDs dept. at Mercy, they will continue with nursery coverage and any sick/healthy PEDs in the ED. Anything that needs to be admitted, will be transferred to another Allina site. 

· EMR: Epic

· Hospital bed size: 12 rooms (up to 16 babies total)

· Skills required: Nursery rounding, neonatal code response, and circumcisions are Required. Would like someone comfortable taking ED consult calls for peds patients in the emergency room (knowing no admissions will be conducted).

Requirements:

· Board Certification: Required

· State license required: MN License Required

· Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Pediatrics required

· DEA: Required

· Certifications required:  ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP

· Minimum experience required: 0-2 years   **If someone is dual boarded IM, client will consider an IM position at Mercy location, if they are comfortable with sick PEDs patients. 

Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 Days
