Gastroenterology Locum Job in Corbin, KY


?Description : 

  • MD/DO-  either
  • BC
  • Required Certifications:  BLS, ATLS, DEA Cert
  • KY or Compact License in hand preferred
  • EMR: Epic
  • One of the following; 
  • American College of Gastroenterology
  • The American Gastroenterological Association
  • American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
  • American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases
  • Required Experience in: 
  • General GI
  • ERCEP: Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography, which is a diagnostic procedure designed to examine diseases of the liver, bile ducts, and pancreas.
  • EUS: Endoscopic Ultrasound, a medical procedure in which endoscopy (insertion of a probe into a hollow organ) is combined with ultrasound to obtain images of the internal organs in the chest, abdomen, and colon. It can be used to visualize the walls of these organs or to look at adjacent structures.
  • *** Presentation should include the scopes that the provider can perform***


  • Gastro Corbin Unit Details:
  • Avg patients seen per day: 24 new patient intakes (14-16 scopes per day)
  • Is there Anesthesia support: Yes
  • # of scopes per call shift: 14-16 – outpatient hospital scopes
  • Will Locums be the sole provider: only MD, 1 mid-level and procedure schedule, and medical assistant. 
  • Is there another support start for Locums: (if so, what): 1 mid-level and procedure schedule and medical assistant. 
  • Patients /time templates: 15 minutes for new patients

  • Schedule: 3 days per week, 8 hour days to include 2 days of procedures (Scopes) and 1 day new patient intakes/inpatient procedure follow up rounding, no call coverage, 3rd day for new patient consults (15 minute intake seeing up to 24 new patients per day who have not been seen in the clinic previously.  Prefer Monday- Wednesday, but willing to discuss in the interview.
