Interventional Cardiologist / Cardiologist - In-House & STEMI Call
We are actively seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Interventional Cardiologist (or Cardiologist with STEMI proficiency) to join our team in Arkansas. This is an ongoing, full-time position focused on providing critical in-house call coverage and rapid STEMI response.
The ideal candidate will possess an active Arkansas medical license and a pristine professional background, with absolutely no malpractice history and no negative National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) reports. For the right candidate, expedited credentialing is possible to facilitate a swift start.
This role is integral to our cardiac care team, ensuring immediate response to cardiac emergencies and seamless patient management within the hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities & Call Details:
- In-House Call: Provide continuous in-house call coverage, responding to all cardiac emergencies and inpatient consultations generated from staff or hospitalists.
- Response Time: Must be able to respond to the facility within 1 hour for general in-house calls.
- STEMI Response: Provide immediate, life-saving care for STEMI alerts.
- Response Time: Must be able to respond to the facility within less than 30 minutes for Emergency/STEMI cases.
- Call Volume: Average call volume is estimated at 20-25 events per 24-hour call period.
- Call Ratio: All calls originate 100% from in-house staff or hospitalists. There are no patient callbacks from discharged patients.
- Manage a wide range of acute cardiac conditions, perform necessary interventions (if Interventional Cardiologist), and stabilize critical patients.
- Collaborate effectively with emergency physicians, critical care teams, cardiac surgeons (if applicable), and other specialists.
Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency, followed by a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship.
- Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease (and Interventional Cardiology if applicable) by the American Board of Internal Medicine (or equivalent recognized board).
- MUST possess an active and unrestricted Arkansas medical license.
- ABSOLUTELY MUST have a clean malpractice history and no negative reports on the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Proven experience in managing cardiac emergencies, acute coronary syndromes, and STEMI cases.
- Ability to meet strict in-house and STEMI call response times.
