??Position Highlights & Requirements
We are seeking a General Surgeon for ongoing monthly coverage in Walla Walla, Washington. The role involves managing outpatient clinic visits, inpatient hospital consults, and emergency/trauma call.
- Licensure: Active Washington (WA) State Medical License or active IMLC required. Active DEA required.
- Certifications: Board Certified (BC) in General Surgery, or Board Eligible (BE) within 2 years of residency completion. Active ATLS certification required.
- EHR System: EPIC.
- Guaranteed Hours: 8 guaranteed hours per day (Overtime threshold applied after 9 hours worked per day).
Clinical Scope & Shift Breakdown
- Daily Schedule: Monday – Friday Clinic & Inpatient Coverage (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM standard block). Non-urgent patients are referred to local outpatient surgeons to optimize scheduling.
- Call Structure: Weeknight Beeper Call (M–F evenings) + 24-Hour Weekend Beeper Call.
- Patient Population: Adults and Pediatrics.
- Scope of Care: Emergency department call, general acute surgical procedures, trauma coverage, and inpatient rounding/call-backs.
