Opportunity in Level III NICU for an experienced, Board Certified Neonatologist in Henrico, VA - Day/Night Shift Coverage Combination

Facility is seeking an experienced, Board-Certified Neonatologist to provide per diem coverage at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital (HDH) in Richmond, Virginia. This is your chance to practice in a state-of-the-art 40-bed Level III NICU with a supportive, experienced team. Henrico Doctors’ Hospital is a 340-bed community facility equipped with advanced technology and full-service care, specializing in heart and stroke, high-risk obstetrics, orthopedics, and imaging, and is recognized nationally as a leader in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgeries.

Your Role

• Staffing Model: 6 full-time Neonatologists
• Day coverage: 2 Neonatologists (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Night coverage: 1 in-house Neonatologist (5:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Transport: Nurse-driven team with physician oversight (avg. 15 transports/year)
• Procedures & Services:
• High-frequency ventilation (HFOV & HFJV)
• Inhaled nitric oxide
• Therapeutic hypothermia with aEEG
• Pediatric surgical patients
• No ECMO or cardiac surgery (except PDA ligations)

2025 NICU Stats (YTD through April)

• NICU Admissions: 130
• NICU Average Daily Census (ADC): 14.3
• Nursery ADC: 24.2

• Board Certified in Neonatology with recent experience - [REQUIRED]
• Cannot accept providers who have not been clinically active for 1 year [REQUIRED]
• Providers must have at least 6 months of clinical experience within the specialty of job they’re applying for [REQUIRED]
• Must have completed Prescreen Questionnaire  [REQUIRED]
• VA license required [REQUIRED]
• Self- Query NPDB Should be pulled within the month of submission [REQUIRED]
