We are seeking a Board Eligible General Surgeon for a long-term, ongoing call coverage assignment at a facility in Texas. This position is strictly call-only, making it an excellent opportunity for a surgeon looking to maximize clinical and procedural hours without the administrative constraints of a daily outpatient clinic footprint.??????
Clinical Details & Schedule
- Format: 24-Hour Emergency Department and Inpatient Call.
- Scope of Practice: Full-spectrum acute care general surgery, emergent consultations, trauma/critical care evaluations, and subsequent surgical intervention.
- EMR: MediTech.|
- Coverage needs are 3-10 shifts per month, depending on the need for that month, spread across multiple locums if needed to accommodate the hospital schedule need.
- Looking for DRIVE-IN candidates only at this time. TX license required. Coverage needs to include weekends.
- Ideally, it would include starting on a Thursday or Friday and continuing through Monday morning at 7am.
- 24 hr call schedule is 7am -7am.

- Preferred Skills: Laparoscopic Surgery, General Surgical Procedures, Head & Neck Surgery, Chest Wall/Pleural Procedures, OB/GYN Surgery, Liver Surgery, GI Endoscopy, Minor Orthopedics, Hand Surgery, Ventilator Management, Chest Tube & Central Line Placement, PA Catheter Placement, Laser Certification, Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Pediatric Specialty Procedures.
Requirements
- Certification: Board Eligible (BE) in General Surgery.
- Licensure: Active Texas (TX) Medical License.
- Life Support: Active ABLS (Advanced Burn Life Support), ACLS, ATLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
