Cardiovascular Surgery Locum Opportunity in Texas

Hospital is looking for locum CV Surgery coverage for the below dates to provide 24-hour call coverage across three different facilities. 

Schedule/Availability Requirements:

OPEN DATES: 

• 6/26(7am)-7/6(7a) - ongoing availability available when perm doctor is not working. 

Provider MUST have a clean MP history to issue temp privileges

Duration: ongoing until further notice

Assignment:

• Shift times: 7am-7am

Setting: primarily inpatient surgical coverage for ED & referred elective cases

FTE: 1.0

# Providers Needed: 1 FTE open to the use of multiple Surgeons to make a full-time schedule

Duties: CV Surgical coverage

Required Procedures: full scope CV Surgery

EMR:

• Clinic Setting: Cerner Mckesson Cardiology
• Hospital Setting: Paragon & CHS Proprietary EMR

Patients per Day:  10-15

Support Staff: typical in clinic & hospital resources

Worksite Resources:  typical in clinic & hospital resources

Reason for Coverage: separation with current employed Surgeon

Deal Breakers: Should have board and license to practice, malpractice Is case by case. Active TX license or IMLC with active LOQ, Must add in presentation packet. 

Credentialing Information:

Timeframe: willing to complete temp privileges as quickly as possible

Billing enrollment: Is this position providing services in lieu of an existing enrolled provider for a period of 60 days or less? This surgeon(s) will be needed beyond 60 days so some payer credentialing may be necessary… Medicare & Medicaid.  We will notify you shortly if billing enrollment will be needed.

??Additional Details / Questions Answered by Facility:

• Are both Thoracic and Cardiac required? yes
• How many hearts/ year is the program doing? 100 possible
• Is there a minimum number of heart surgeries that must be performed from a candidate proficiency perspective?  Will review case by case but should have enough to maintain licensure and board
• Is the surgeon required to harvest veins or will a PA be present? Should be able to harvest own veins hospital may provide PA depending on volume

Submission Requirements

• BC [HIGHLY PREFERRED] or truly BE
• State License: TX [REQUIRED]
• Residency Requirements/Fellowship: CV or Cardiothoracic surgery fellowship [REQUIRED]
• Other Certifications: BLS & ACLS [HIGHLY PREFERRED] BLS and ACLS can be obtained through on-site training.
• Malpractice status: Clean [REQUIRED], will consider providers with settled MP cases.
