Facility provides Interventional Radiology (IR) on the Chattanooga campus.
Schedule/Availability Requirements:
- Start Date: ASAP, as soon as credentialed. Facility is looking for coverage starting Sept - Jan 2027.
ONSITE --
- Weekday - Interventional Radiologist, Chattanooga campus 8am-4pm, 5 days/week
CALL --
- Weekday - Interventional Radiologist 4pm-8am, 5 days/week
- Weekend/Holiday - Interventional Radiologist 8am-8am, 2 days/week
Job Details:
-Will they need a fellowship in Interventional Radiology? No.
-Will they be doing any reading in between procedures? If yes, what is the RVU expectation for diagnostics? This is specific to the physician's preferences.
-Would you accept someone who is 100% IR and does not read diagnostic cases? YES, diagnostic is not required.
-Will they have any support staff? YES.
-What is the PACS/Dictation system? Merge, Powerscribe 360, Dragon.

Required IR Procedures: Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients by various radiologic imaging modalities fluoroscopy, digital radiography, CT, sonography, and MRI). Radiologists are responsible for communicating critical values and critical findings consistent with medical staff policy. May provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies. Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. The core privileges in this specialty include the procedures on the attached procedure list and such other procedures that are extensions of the same techniques and skills.
- Performance of history and physical exam
- Participation in short- and long-term post-procedure follow-up care
- Pre- and postoperative management of endovascular patients
- Order rehab services
- Angiography/arteriography (excluding cerebral & Cartoid)
- Arthrography
- Catheter based diagnostic arteriography of the chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities,and their associated vasculatures
- Catheter based diagnostic venography of the neck, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, and their associated vasculatures
- Catheter based therapeutic arterial procedures including: angioplasty, stenting,
atherectomy, embolization and chemoembolization, thrombectomy and thrombolytic therapy, and infusion of vasoactive agents
- Catheter based therapeutic venous procedures including: angioplasty, stenting,
atherectomy, embolization and chemoembolization, thrombectomy and thrombolytic therapies, infusion of vasoactive agents, venous sampling, vena cava filter placement, and endovenous laser therapy
- Coil occlusions of aneurysms (excluding intracranial)
- Chest tube placement
- Image-guided biopsy, injections, aspirations, and drainage procedures
- Image-guided genitourinary procedures including: nephrostomy, ureteral stenting, stone access and removal, stricture dilation and related catheter maintenance
- Image-guided procedures of the hepatobiliary system including: percutaneous
transhepatic cholangiography, percutaneous biliary drainage, stricture dilation and stenting, cholecystostomy placement, pancreatic duct interventions
- Image-guided gastrointestinal procedures including: gastrostomy, gastrojejunostomy, cecostomy, stricture dilation and stenting
- Image-guided musculoskeletal procedures including: arthrography, biopsy, injection and aspiration
- Image-guided tumor therapy and ablation, e.g. radiofrequency and cryoablation, tumor injection
- Insertion and management of central venous and dialysis access catheters
- Lymphangiography
- Lumbar puncture, myelography, and interventional procedures for pain management including: epidural steroid injection and facet injection and nerve blocks
- Noninvasive diagnostic vascular radiology, including ultrasonography, noninvasive arterial vascular testing, CTA, and MRA
- Therapeutic infusion of vasoactive agents
- Therapeutic vascular radiology, including balloon angioplasty, stent placement, atherectomy, intra-arterial and IV thrombolytic therapy, and embolization/ablation,including transarterial chemoembolization (excluding carotid and intracranial intervention)
- Transcervical fallopian tube recanalization and histosalpingography
- Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS)
- Uterine artery embolization
- Vertebral Augmentation Procedures to Include Percutaneous Techniques Used to achieve Internal Vertebral Body Stabilization
- Ultrasound guided thoracentesis
- Ultrasound guided paracentesis
- Fluoroscopic guided lumbar puncture
