Internal Medicine / Family Practice Locum Opportunity in Pennsylvania

Reason for Coverage: Transition of provider. 

Locum needed in interim while physician is recruited for employment. FTE or Shifts per month needed: 1.0 

Inpatient, Outpatient or both: Both 

Target start date and Length of need: As soon as credentialed / up to 26 weeks (6 months) Locums Shift Schedule (ex: 8a-5p or 7p-7a, etc) : Mondays 12p-8p; Tuesdays 8a-4p, Wednesdays 8a-4p, Thursdays 8a-4p; Fridays 8a-4p. 

Shift Description: Coverage of the medical infirmary.

Type of patients / cases / procedures required: Caring for infirmary patients as well as acute patient issues. 

Infirmary census averages 14-24 but most are not high acuity and need seen weekly or less. Basic procedural skills including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage Current Incarceration Population: 1,800 patients Patient Encounters per shift: Varies - see above Daytime Support: nursing , APP’s, physicians and medical director Certifications required (Board Certification/Truly Board Eligible or life support, etc.): Board eligible or Board Certified, BLS required, ACLS preferred Will you accept licensure candidates (IMLC or standard process): No - must have an active PA license Minimum candidate commitment to consider: 26 weeks Is corrections experience required? No *Hospital Privileging: 60-90 days from application to network committee meeting - Application is required to be completed and returned with all documentation within 10 days of receipt.
