We are seeking an experienced, Board-Certified Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a full-time, clinic-only locum tenens assignment at a premier, large-scale academic hospital in Pennsylvania. This position offers multiple daytime shift options with zero call requirements in a highly collaborative, medically directed environment.

- Shift Times Available: * 10-Hour Shifts: 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- 12-Hour Shifts: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (7:00 AM start on Thursdays)
- Note: Unpaid lunch breaks must be tracked accurately via clocking in/out.
Practice Setting & Care Structure
- Facility Environment: Large, high-volume academic tertiary care hospital.
- Practice Model: Medically directed environment with Anesthesiologists present. The typical CRNA-to-Anesthesiologist ratio runs 2:1 or 3:1.
- Patient Handoffs: Structured transitions to appropriate anesthesia or post-anesthesia care staff per the clinical setting.
Clinical Scope & Procedures
- Case Mix: High-acuity caseload including General, Orthopedics, Trauma, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics (ages 5 and up), Endoscopy, NORA (Non-Operating Room Anesthesia), Robotic Surgery, Gynecology, and ENT.
- Exclusions: No Hearts, No OB, and No standalone blocks.
- Core Duties: Perform comprehensive history and physicals, obtain informed consent, conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and post-operative assessments, and develop/implement customized anesthetic plans.
- Anesthesia Techniques & Technical Skills: * General, Regional, Epidural, and Spinal Anesthesia
- IV Regional Blocks & Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)
- Advanced Airway Management
- Invasive Monitoring & Placement (CVP/CVC, pulmonary artery catheterization, and intra-arterial lines)
Requirements & Qualifications
- Board Certification: NBCRNA Certified (BC) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of independent CRNA experience is strictly required by the conclusion of the credentialing period. Candidates must be fully prepared to hit the ground running.
- Licensure: Active Pennsylvania (PA) CRNA license.
- Note: Penn State does not participate in or accept the IMLC for this position.
- DEA license is NOT required for CRNAs practicing in Pennsylvania.
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
