100% Vascular Surgery experience MUST

Shift- 24 hr call
Duration – 6 months Extension approvals are required every 6 months*

Required certifications- Board Cert, other certs required by MSO
EMR- EPIC. Proficient User.
This position will have 24hr Call
Work will be done in hospital and primarily as FA in the OR and initial transition to the floor.
-OR Cases may be Emergent or Scheduled
IP Rounding and pt. management will be done by Employed APCs
Clinic work will be done by Employed APCs
Credentialing Timeframe-
-Standard Privileges 1.5 years, Temporary Privileges 120 days
-Standard Credentialing- 90 days
-Expedited Cred process if pre-approved by MSO - ~30 days (MSO approval needed, Clean Pre-App, State license ready)
APP REQUIREMENTS:
•WEEKDAYS, up to 8-hours/day of coverage for First Assist and overnight emergency First Assist call; w/Call Back and notification of Vascular Surgery Leadership for hours exceeding 8-hours/24 hours, on the next business day.
-Rounding and consults will be completed by employed APPs, unless there is need for vacation coverage.
•WEEKENDS 4-hours/day coverage for rounding and emergency surgery w/Call Back and notification of Vascular Surgery Leadership for hours exceeding 6-hours/weekend day, on the next business day. Call Back rates do not start until 4-hours/24-hour call shift are exceeded.
EXPECTATIONS ARE THAT:
•Any day exceeding the above hours requiring Call Back hours would be related to Vascular Surgery Leadership within 24-hours with explanation/documentation of the rationale for exceeding, so we have live time feedback on our needs.
•APPs will review and tee up routine consults and inpatient vascular surgery patients on the weekend independently and then contact On Call Vascular Surgeon to review and round/staff on these patients. Urgent or Emergent cases would be exceptions.
•APPs will keep a running tally of the patients they are First Assisting on and pt. they consult/round on in the hospital. This list should be brought to the Vascular Surgery Clinic the next business day, when they first check in.
