Call Requirements & Response Times
While providers are not required to remain onsite for the full 24-hour shift, strict response protocols are in place:
- Availability: 9 shifts per month available; typically seeking 1–2 weekends.
- Phone Response: Must answer all calls within 15 minutes.
- Onsite Presence: Must be in the building within 30 minutes when called back.
- Callback Volume: Ranges from 0 to 4 hours of active work per shift.
Clinical Scope & Procedures
- Total Hips: MANDATORY. Must be able to perform total hip arthroplasty for hip fractures coming through the ED.
- Total Knees: Preferred/Bread and butter, but not a "deal-breaker."
- General: Simple fractures and standard ED Ortho trauma.
- Inpatient Census: Average of 10 orthopaedic patients.
- Support: 2 local integrated surgeons and 1 non-integrated privileged physician onsite.
Provider Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Oklahoma (OK) Medical License.
- Board Status: Board Eligible (BE).
- Certifications: ACLS & BLS.
- Credentialing: 60–90 day timeline.
