Description

We are seeking a Board Certified Neurosurgeon for a long-term, ongoing inpatient and clinical assignment in North Carolina. This position provides traditional general adult neurosurgical care. The facility is a non-trauma designated community hospital, meaning the acute caseload focuses primarily on non-traumatic spinal, cranial, and elective vascular pathologies rather than high-velocity trauma.

Clinical Schedule & Workload

  • Clinic/Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (12-hour operational windows).
  • Schedule Pattern: Flexible; varies from 1 to 7 days per week depending on the facility's master rotation and provider availability.
  • Format: Integrated daytime clinical/rounding hours paired with subsequent facility call.
  • Hospital Settings: Accredited Chest Pain Center. This is not a designated trauma center, and advanced stroke/endovascular interventions are rarely required.
  • EMR Dual Tech Stack: * Athena / Ingenious Med: Utilized for outpatient clinic administration and billing charges.
  • Cerner: Utilized for inpatient hospital tracking, electronic orders, and progress notes.

Procedural Scope of Practice

The incoming surgeon must be competent in general adult neurosurgical interventions, including but not limited to:

  • Spine: Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar surgeries (both with and without instrumentation).
  • Cranial: Adult tumors, skull base surgeries, and VP shunt placements.
  • Vascular/Arterial: General carotid or vertebral artery surgery, open cerebrovascular cases, and aneurysm clipping.
  • Critical Care/Other: Application of external traction, placement of ICP monitors, central line placements, and associated ventilator management.

Requirements & Rigid Submission Guidelines

  • Certification: Board Certified (BC), ACLS, BLS, ATLS, ABLS
  • Licensure: Active North Carolina (NC) Medical License.

Credentialing Constraint: MUST have a completely clear malpractice background file. Temporary privileges can be granted within 30 days exclusively for providers with no history of claims or adverse actions.
