?Position Highlights & Requirements
We are seeking a Board Eligible Radiation Oncologist to provide ongoing block coverage at a comprehensive regional cancer center serving a draw area of 1.3 million people in Montana.
- Licensure: Active Montana (MT) State Medical License or active IMLC required.
- Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible (BE) in Radiation Oncology, BLS.
- EHR & Systems: Cerner (Clinic EMR), Varian ARIA (RadOnc EMR), Varian Eclipse (Treatment Planning).
- Schedule Pattern: 1 month on / 1 month off (flexible schedule options available).
- Call Structure: 1 week of call every 4 weeks.
Clinical Volume & Daily Workflow
- Workday: 9-hour operational shifts (Overtime applies after 9 hours per day).
- Patient Volume: ~15–20 clinic patients/day (Follow-ups & On-Treatment Visits).
- Consults: 2–3 consults per day.
- Daily Department Treatment Volume: 25–30 total patients under treatment daily.
- Multidisciplinary Responsibilities: Active participation in weekly Tumor Boards required.
Technology & Staffing Support
- Cancer Center Setup: All cancer care modalities (Medical, Surgical, and Gynecologic Oncology) integrated under one roof.
- Equipment & Hardware: All-Varian site with 2 Linacs (Varian TrueBeam & Trilogy) and 1 Siemens Go Sim CT scanner.
- Department Team: Working alongside 2.5 FTE practicing Radiation Oncologists, 2 on-site Medical Physicists, 1 on-site & 2 remote Dosimetrists, and 3.8 Radiation Therapists.
