We are seeking a Board Certified Neurosurgeon to provide ongoing, weekend-only call coverage in St. Louis, Missouri. Following a staff surgeon's departure, the facility is introducing a rotating locums provider to ease the department's call burden from a 1:4 to a 1:5 rotation. This is an efficient, low-frequency assignment ideal for a surgeon looking to pick up a single weekend per month.
??Clinical Schedule & Volume Metrics
- Frequency: Exactly 1 weekend per month.
- Shift Window: 72-Hour continuous weekend block starting Friday at 7:00 AM and concluding Monday at 7:00 AM.
- Call Structure: 24-Hour beeper call (includes a 24-hour gratis structure per shift).
- Caseload Pacing: The neurosurgery consultative service averages 20 patients per weekend shift.
- Advanced Practice Support: A dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) supports the day shift (4–8 hours daily depending on volume). APPs handle inpatient rounding, select operating room first-assisting, and outpatient clinic follow-ups.
Requirements
- Certification: Board Certified (BC) Only in Neurological Surgery, with an active BLS.
- Licensure: Active Missouri (MO) Medical License or an active, assignment-ready IMLC passport.
