Neurological Surgery Locum Opportunity in Michigan

Hospital is seeking a Board Certified Neurosurgeon for adult neurosurgery and trauma care, including spine surgery and critical care procedures. 

Job Description:

• Position: Locum Neurosurgeon
• Specialty: Neurosurgery
• Practice Setting: Hospital-Based
• Schedule: Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM (24-hour weekend/holiday call)
• Call Requirements: 100% (24-hour coverage Friday through Monday)
• Coverage Duration: ASAP – Indefinite
• Patient Load: Adult neurosurgery and trauma cases, including brain bleed management, trauma repair, spine surgery (spinal fusion, laminectomy, diskectomy, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty), and critical care procedures (external ventricular drain management, ICP/CPP monitoring)
• EMR System: Epic
• Trauma Level: Level 2
• Group Size: 2 neurosurgeons plus locums

Credentialing Timeframe: 90–120 days

Submission Requirements

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurosurgery – [REQUIRED]
• Michigan medical license – [REQUIRED]
• Fellowship-trained in Neurosurgery (if applicable) – [PREFERRED]
• BLS certification – [REQUIRED]
• Ability to perform adult neurosurgery and trauma procedures, including brain bleed management, trauma repair, spine surgery (spinal fusion, laminectomy, diskectomy, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty), and critical care procedures (external ventricular drain management, ICP/CPP monitoring) – [REQUIRED]
• Familiarity with Epic EMR system – [REQUIRED]
• Locum provider able to cover 24-hour weekend/holiday shifts – [REQUIRED]
• Self-Query NPDB (Should be pulled within the month) – [REQUIRED], required at the time of presentation
