Description

We are seeking a qualified Emergency Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum tenens assignment at a community emergency facility in Michigan. This position offers consistent night shift blocks with strong Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) coverage and hospitalist support. ABEM board certification is strongly preferred, and new graduates are welcome to apply.


?Position Overview

  • Specialty: Emergency Medicine (ED)
  • Start Date: October 19, 2026
  • End Date: Ongoing
  • Shift Commitment: Approximately 6–8 shifts per month
  • Primary Shift Need: Night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM), typically scheduled in consecutive multi-day blocks.


Facility & Clinical Scope

  • Annual ED Volume: Approximately 20,000 visits per year.
  • Responsibilities: Primary emergency patient care, managing code responses, and stabilization. Hospitalists handle inpatient admissions.
  • Shift Variations: * Physician Shifts: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Primary Night Need) | 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM | 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • APC Overlap Shifts: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM | 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM (Note: Physician may cover APC shifts if needed)


Requirements & Qualifications

  • Board Certification: ABEM (American Board of Emergency Medicine) strongly preferred; Board Eligible (BE) candidates and New Graduates are welcome.
  • Licensure: Active Michigan (MI) medical license.
  • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS. (American Heart Association / AHA certification is strictly required).
  • Malpractice History: Candidates must have a clean malpractice history. Candidates with pending or past malpractice claims cannot be accepted for this system.
