Description

Facility is seeking a board-certified Physician in Emergency Medicine.


Date coverage: 

  • July 20: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • July 25: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • July 26: Shift TBD
  • August 10 [night shift all August]
  • August 16
  • August 17
  • August 24
  • August 29
  • August 31
  • September [Approximately 8 shifts anticipated (primarily nights)]

Schedule: 

  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Job Information:

  • Annual ED Volume: 13,800 visits
  • Average Daily Volume: 32–50 patients
  • Total ED Beds: 10
  • Trauma Designation: Level IV
  • Fast Track: No
  • 55% of hospital admissions originate from the ED
  • 6.4% of ED patients are admitted
  • Fewer than 7 patient transfers per 24-hour period
  • EMR: Epic

Support:

  • One APP works alongside the ED attending from 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
  • Locum physician will provide supervision of APP during overlapping hours

Clinical responsibilities:

  • Respond to hospital codes as needed
  • Interpret EKGs; cardiology provides final review
  • Admission orders handled by admitting physicians
  • OB patients are stabilized and transferred to Sparrow Lansing L&D

Submission Requirements

ALL MUST BE NOTATED IN THE TIME OF NAME CLEAR:

  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) - [REQUIRED]
  • Please submit dates provider is available as July/August is an emergent need -  [REQUIRED]
  • Must have active FULL MI license at time of name clear - No IMLC or Compact License are approved [REQUIRED]
  • ACLS and ATLS - [REQUIRED]
  • Ability to supervise Advanced Practice Providers
  • Experience working in a community emergency department setting
