A hospital is actively searching for Board-Certified (BC) Interventional Radiologists (MD/DO) to cover an open vacancy on an ongoing basis. This role requires on-site body IR procedure coverage and dedicated call responsibilities.
Assignment Details

- Credentialing Timeline: 90–120 days (dependent on locum responsiveness)
- Sole Provider: Yes, the locum will be the sole provider during their shift/call.
Schedule & Shifts
Shifts include daily patient care, night call, and weekend call.
- Daytime Patient Care: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Night Call: 4:30 PM – 8:00 AM
- Weekend Call: Continuous 24-hour call blocks ending Monday at 8:00 AM.
Specific February - May 2026 Need Highlights:
- Feb 1: 24-hour call
- Feb 2 – 6: Day shift with night call (Night call: Feb 2–5)
- Feb 21 & 22: 24-hour call
- Feb 25 – 28: Day shift with night call
- Feb 28 & Mar 1: 24-hour weekend call
- Mar 14 & 15: 24-hour weekend call
- Apr 18 & 19: 24-hour weekend call
- May 18 & 19: 24-hour weekend call
Scope of Work & Procedures
- Focus: 100% Interventional Radiology (IR). A separate Radiology group handles all diagnostic exams (CTs, MRIs, Ultrasounds, etc.).
- Activity: Onsite IR procedures. When not busy with procedures, the locum will read IR-related studies.
- Must be proficient in general IR and capable of performing a wide range of procedures.
- Common Procedures (Body IR):
- Paras, Thoras, Biopsies, Drains
- Tunneled/Non-Tunneled Dialysis Catheters, Port Placement, Neph Tubes
- Neuro procedures are NOT performed by this service (go to the Cath Lab).
- Lower Volume Procedures: GI Bleeds (Angio/Embo), Ablation (Cryo/Microwave), IVC Filter Placement.
Requirements & Logistics
- Credentials: Physician (MD/DO)
- Board Status: Board Certified (BC) in IR.
- Certifications: BLS, DEA
- Experience: Epic experience strongly preferred.
- Case Logs: Two years of case logs to support procedures will be required.
- Supervision: None (The locum will be the sole IR provider).
- Privileges: Full Privileges available.
