Hematology Oncology Locum Opportunity in Kentucky

Medical Oncology & Hematology is seeking Part-Time Physicians (MD/DO) for Locum Tenens coverage due to provider turnover. We are targeting a start date of August 3,2026 with an assignment duration of six months or longer. The facility is seeking part-time for 2 nonconsecutive weeks per month after August.

Once cleared we will need the attached presentation form completed with the CV, and KY license verification, and NPDB or other relevant malpractice history details.

Due to the approaching dates, KY license over Compact license is needed.

Shifts Available: Orientation, Day Shift, and Night Call (total of 10 shifts needed)

Dates Needed: August 3-7| Aug 10-14| Aug 17-21| Aug 24-28| Aug 31-Sept 4| Sept 14-18| Sep 28- Oct 2| Nov 2-6| Nov 16-20 | Dec 7- Dec 11| Dec 28-31

Privileges: Temps/ Emergency/ Full

Minimum Experience: 5 years

Credentials Accepted: Physician (MD/DO)

Board Requirements: Board Certification in both Medical Oncology and Hematology preferred. Candidates certified in one specialty may be considered with adequate experience in both areas.

Certifications Required: BLS, ABMS Certified.

Licensure: MUST BE KY Licensed and clean malpractice required for emergency privileges.

Clinical Expectations

Workload: 18-22 Patients per day

Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Night Call: Minimal callbacks; onsite visits only for established patients

Hospital Rounding: Occasional, typically under one hour

If LOCUM physician wishes to be paid for call coverage, they would need to cover call for the 24-hour period on dates they are assigned. For those Fridays, the call would shift to the weekend coverage at Midnigh

Procedures: Bone marrow biopsies

Patient Volume: Busy practice with 18–22 patients per day

Support Structure:

Dedicated RN support for in-room assistance, referrals, and administrative tasks

Medical assistants available to streamline clinic operations

Collaborative environment with Radiation Oncology; onsite, supportive leadership

Opportunity to supervise and collaborate with APPs
