Medial Oncology Locum position in Peoria, IL: $550 Hourly


??About the Opportunity:

Be a part of building something new! Hospital is seeking a motivated and experienced Medical Oncologist to assist in the exciting launch of our new Medical Oncology practice. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of cancer care in our community. You will work collaboratively with an on-site Advanced Practice Provider (APP) and a PRN Medical Oncologist who provides coverage one week per month. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with no weekend responsibilities.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing direct patient care, including initial consultations, hospital admissions when necessary, and ongoing follow-up care.
  • Conducting hospital rounding as needed during your weekday shifts.
  • Collaborating closely with the in-practice Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for patient consults, follow-up appointments, medication orders, and overall patient management.
  • Coordinating patient care effectively with a multidisciplinary cancer care team.
  • Providing consistent coverage during the weeks when the PRN Medical Oncologist is not on-site.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of best practices within the new oncology program.


Support Structure:

  • Advanced Practice Provider (APP): You will work collaboratively with an on-site APP.
  • PRN Medical Oncologist: On-site for one week per month to provide additional support and coverage.
  • No Weekend Coverage: This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule.


Qualifications:

  • Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Medical Oncology.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license.
  • Strong clinical skills in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of oncological conditions.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in both inpatient and outpatient oncology settings preferred.
