We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon for an ongoing locum tenens engagement. This facility serves as a regional hub for 16 surrounding counties (200,000+ population) and requires a high-level generalist to manage trauma call, elective surgeries, and clinical follow-ups.

- Start Date: March 13, 2026
- Duration: Ongoing
- Schedule: * Clinic: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Call: 24-hour call coverage with follow-up clinic visits.
- Mandatory Date Blocks:
- Block 1: March 13 (0700) – March 24 (0700)
- Block 2: April 23 (0700) – April 28 (0700)
Clinical Responsibilities
- Inpatient: Post-op rounding, inpatient/ED consults, and OR time.
- Clinic: Managing 10–30 appointments/day (consults, rechecks, post-ops, and procedures).
- Average Daily Census: ~160 patients hospital-wide (mainly consults for Ortho).
- Staffing: 4 Physicians & 7 APPs (Supervision of APPs is required).
- Teaching: Opportunity to work with IM/FM residents and PA students.
Technical & Facility Details
- EMR: Epic.
- Exam Rooms: 2 exam rooms and 3 cast rooms per provider.
- Ancillary: 1 Nurse per provider; 3 Cast Techs, 3 Receptionists, and 2 Schedulers shared per 7 providers.
- Imaging: Full onsite Medical Imaging, Lab, and Pharmacy.
Submission Requirements [MANDATORY]
- Board Certification: Must be Board Certified (BE not accepted).
- Licensure: Active Iowa (IA) License or IMLC (please upload Letter of Qualification/LOQ).
- Availability: Must be able to cover both requested date blocks.
- Compliance: Clean malpractice/background. Self-Query NPDB pulled within the last 30 days must be uploaded at the time of presentation.
- Skills: Must be proficient in:
- Total Joint Replacement: Hip, knee, and shoulder.
- Surgical Procedures: Hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot.
- Trauma/Sports: Fracture care and general musculoskeletal disorders.
