Description

Hospital is looking to add a Physician to their Cardiothoracic-Surgery team!


  • Start Date: As soon as credentialed
  • End date: 6 month assignment.
  • Frequency: 3-10 coverage days each month are needed (variable), inclusive of at least 1 weekend per month; on call hours are 5pm-7 am.
  • Practice Setting: Inpatient
  • Schedule: 8a-5p days (Monday-Friday), night call and rotating weekend call


Required surgical/coverage responsibilities:

  • Outpatient clinic patient evaluation, Surgical, pre-op, post-op, and critical care management of cardiac surgical patients including evening/night/weekend coverage,
  • Daytime coverage - rounding, decision making for continuity of care, discharges; accepting and management of transfers, cath lab backup, management (second call after ICU APPs) for, on average, 7-10 cardiac surgery ICU patients with 2-4 ECMO, mechanical circulatory support and 4-10 inpatient surgical patients /- consultative services at night. Elective surgery referrals would be rare. Perfusion coverage 24 hours in house when ecmo active. PA coverage 24 hours in house for surgical, CICU, and floor needs as first call and assistants. No resident involvement and no fellows. Included mechanical support: ECMO, Impella, IABP.

Submission Requirements

  • Board Certified -  [REQUIRED]
  • Connecticut License in hand at time of submission is preferred but will accept IMLC- [REQUIRED]
  • EPIC Experience - [PREFERRED] 
  • ACLS - [REQUIRED] 
  • BLS - [REQUIRED]
