Facility Gastroenterology team is looking for locums support. They need help with GI inpatient onsite coverage and call coverage for acute/inpatient needs at a level 3 trauma center. Candidates must be able to perform ERCP to be considered.
Average worked Callback Hours: Weekday: 1.12 hours, Weekend: 3.61 hours
Schedule/Availability Requirements:
- All stints below end the following morning at 7a.

- Ongoing dates will be determined as schedules are released, and will begin Jan 2027
Details:
- Mon-Fri (7a-3p) & 3p-7a (night call), Sat-Sun 24 hour call (7a-7a)
- Setting: Inpatient, Emergency Room, Call, Trauma Level III
- Days per month: 3-4 weeks in total of locums coverage per month.
- Required Procedures: EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, GI consultation on ED/Inpatients.
- EMR: EPIC
- Support Staff: RN, X-ray Tech
- Reason for Coverage: Gaps in coverage
EMR Required Training:
- Credentialing Preapp and full app must be completed and submitted to move provider into "applicant in training" to generate AD account and begin EMR account set up. Once AD account creation begins it can take up to 5 days to create account.
- Module (learn lessons) – Must be completed prior to virtual EMR training to attend the training.
- EMR Virtual training – Only able to attend if Modules are completed before training. Virtual training must be completed at least one week prior to the providers first day.
- First Day Details - Site requires completion of EMR Modules and training, before first day details can be released.
- All candidates must complete the following EMR questionnaire and detail it in the notes section of the candidates submission at time of presentation:
- What are the # of years of epic experience they have?
- When was the last time (MM/YYYY) that they used Epic?
- What is the name of the last facility the provider used EPIC?
- Can you provide me with a photo large enough to add to a badge and not become pixelated? - Please add photo into documents.
- Can you disclose the provider's time zone for scheduling the virtual epic training?
- We need the provider's best phone # to use for call shifts while working. Can you disclose?
- We need the provider's best email, to use for programs while working onsite and the preapplication. Can you please send us their personal email address?
Credentialing Information:
- Timeframe: 60-90 days
- Requirements: Preapp and full app must be submitted within 72 hours of receipt of initial app to allow enough time for AD account creation for EMR requirements. Once both are submitted, provider is moved to "applicant in training" which initiates AD Account creation for provider EMR account and can take up to 5 days before release of EMR training requirements.

- Number of Beds: 185
- Census/Admissions: 2-3 Patients per day needing procedures, 2-3 ICU bleeds per week.
- What duties is he expected to do while he is in-house between 7am - 3pm? Is he expected to do any outpatient work in addition to the call? No outpatients, the need is to provide GI care/consults on ED/admitted patients to SAN.
- What kind of internal teams support him while he is on call either between 3pm - 7am or on the weekends? We have on call anesthesia and GI nursing teams if emergent or urgent cases need to go during the evenings or weekends.
- Are you willing to review providers who are anticipated to receive their active IMLC in 2 weeks? No. Must be CO licensed or have an active IMLC at time of submission.
