Radiology Locum Opportunity in California

Hospital is looking for 1-2 locums for weekend day shift telemedicine Diagnostic Radiologist. Doctor will be asked to read general diagnostic studies, which include MR, CT, US, and X-ray. MSK, and Body preferred. Provider must hold a CA license and live in either CA, CO, MI, NY, SC or FL. They can't work in another state. The reason the radiologists need to reside in one of those states is that, at this time.

ED and inpatient coverage is the primary role during the weekend coverage. If the Radiologist is able to get to the outpatient list, then that would be great. But it’s important to ensure the ED and Inpatient studies are being interpreted with an optimal turnaround time. We do have a Telerad group that can help with specialized studies that the Radiologist reading for us feels uncomfortable reading. But most of our studies are bread and butter exams (straightforward X-rays, CT’s, US’s and a few MRI’s). 

Schedule/Availability Requirements:

Start: As soon as credentialed, credentialing can take up to 90 days

Shift time: 8 AM - 5 PM or 9 AM to 6 PM

Duration: 8 hours

Assignment: Weekends only- current weekends that are open. Keep in mind credentialing can take up to 90 days:

• January: 3-4, 17-18
• February: 7-8

Setting: Hospital Inpatient and Outpatient

FTE: 1 - 2

Duties/Required Procedures: reading general diagnostic studies, MR, CT, US, X-Ray, .

An average of daily studies: 75 CTs, 20 MRs, 200 x-rays - between the 2 providers confirmed. 

EMR: Cerner

Reason for Coverage: Short Staffed
