Schedule/Availability Requirements:

Schedule/Shift times: 8a-430pm 


  • July 10th, 13-17, 27th-31st
  • August 3rd, 31-September 4
  • October 2nd, 5th-9th
  • November 23rd-27th, 30th- Dec 4th
  • Dec 21-25, 28th- Jan 1st


  • Setting: General Acute Care Hospital (Stroke Certified, not Chest Pain Center accredited, not a Trauma Level designation
  • Duties: Hospital Coverage, we have a need for a Radiologist to cover the Hospital which involves the IR needs along with Stroke CT's and other procedures/availability. There is also the potential for a Radiologist to cover our Building 4 which is an outpatient building where a Radiologist has to be present for contrasted CT's and MRI's along with Breast biopsies. 
  • Required Procedures: lumbar punctures, barium studies, various centesis exams with drains and CT/US biopsies preferred
  • IR Procedures (Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy Tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, Chest Tubes, Suprapubic Catheters);  Biopsies (Thyroid, Lung, Other)
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Support Staff: Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) Nurses and Techs; We do have a large Radiology group in Sacramento that performs overflow and after-hours reads
  • Reason for Coverage: Resignation of Radiologist
  • Dealbreakers: Procedural Skills, Acute Care Imaging capability (Stroke CT's, ED and ICU imaging studies)


Additional Details / Questions Answered by Facility:

  • Admissions per day: 12-15
  • Patients/day: ED Daily Volume is 85-90 patients/day, Average Daily Inpatient/Obs Census is ~50 patients (includes ICU and OB). 
  • Types of cases: Surgical, Medical, ICU, and OB


Based on review of the last several months of volume, 

  • we would expect the following studies interpreted per day and procedures performed per day: 
  • TOTAL: ~50 studies/day + 4-6 procedures/day
  • BREAKDOWN of Daily Work
  • CTs: 12-15
  • Xrays: 15-20
  • Ultrasounds: 8-12
  • IR Procedures: 4-6*
  • *Predominantly non-complex IR; Vast majority of exams are percutaneous (i.e. biopsies, drains, aspirations,etc.) with some infrequent tunneled (i.e. pleurex catheter placement, CV Access)

  • Other Certifications – BLS and DEA [Required] during credentialing. CA Fluoroscopy [Required] at submission!
  • Malpractice – Clean [Preferred]
  • Availability at time of name clear – [Required]
