Description :

  • Locum Tenens Physician Opportunity – PM&R (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) 
  • Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician for a full-time locum tenens assignment 
  • The facility is seeking consistent, ongoing coverage to support inpatient rehabilitation services while recruiting for permanent physician staff. 

Assignment Details

Schedule

  • Coverage Type: Inpatient Rehabilitation
  • Assignment Dates: August 15, 2026 – March 31, 2027
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday
  • Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Call Requirement: None
  • Minimum Commitment: 4 weeks per month
  • 46 acute inpatient rehabilitation beds
  • Collaborative physician care model
  • Hospitalist attending physicians with PM&R physicians serving in a consulting role
  • Multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams focused on high-quality patient outcomes

This collaborative structure allows providers to practice at the highest level of their specialty expertise while maintaining manageable patient volumes and strong clinical support.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Manage a rehabilitation patient panel of up to 23 patients
  • Conduct inpatient rehabilitation consultations and follow-up care
  • See rehabilitation patients a minimum of 3 times per week in accordance with CMS regulations
  • Collaborate closely with hospitalists, therapy teams, nursing staff, and case management
  • Support comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation treatment planning and patient progression
  • Qualifications
  • Required
  • Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)
  • Active Alaska License, IMLC, or Alaska Temporary License
  • Active DEA Registration

Preferred

  • Prior inpatient rehabilitation experience
  • Strong collaborative and interdisciplinary communication skills
