5-6 days/month - any day (Mon-Sun)


Description : Facility is looking for a bread and butter Urologist for clinic and call for 3-6 months. Clinic Manager will provide clinic tour/orientation before start date. Applicants should be interested in a wide variety of general cases, clinic, rounding, and OR. Candidates should be collegial team players with good patient and customer service skills. Robot onsite at hospital for cases if needed. Will be sole provider in a fast paced/busy dept. Provider may take hospital call during clinic hours.

  • Call schedule is released about one month before. Must be able to work weekend call either before or after. If a new provider call would start weekend after their first week to get acclimated. 

Details:

  • Shift times: Clinic - 8a-4p, Night call(call is not every shift) (5p-8a) and 24 hour call - 7a-7a - (1:6)
  • Minimum of 3 months of locum coverage is required. 
  • 5-6 days of call plus clinic minimum
  • Facility Location: SMMC
  • Setting: clinic/call
  • Total # FTE’s needed: 1
  • Duties:  general urology care in clinic and on call, Cystoscopy, vasectomies, prostate biopsy, TURP, uroflow/cuff, bladder scans, Ureteroscopy, nephrectomy, Cystectomy, ESWL, Botox injections, etc.  
  • Required Procedures: bread and butter urology, robot available, however robotic procedures not required.
  • Patients per day/volume: 20-25 pts per day
  • Number of surgeries: 20-30/month
  • Robotics? yes 
  • Call Volume (consults vs callback): 20% consults, 80% callback- When on call 20% of patients are new consults and 80% are established patients returning to the ED.
  • Admissions: Hospitalist team present
  • Rounding: Locum will round
  • EMR: Epic
  • Support Staff: 2 RNs, MA, Surgery Scheduler, and 2 front office staff.
  • Reason for Coverage:  open position with difficulty in recruiting, current locum found a perm job. 
  • Dealbreakers: Providers who are not agreeable to terms in the job desc. Providers who cannot keep up in a fast paced, busy environment, providers who are not agreeable to rates or who have not reviewed the job description and understand pt. volumes and setting. 


Credentialing Information:

  • Timeframe: 3 months
  • Requirements (Board Certifications etc.): board eligible considered
  • Certifications: BLS, DEA
  • Credentialing with other facilities? locums automatically credentialed at all facilities not including St. Michaels. 


Submission Requirements
  • Board Certified Urology – BC [HIGHLY PREFERRED] or Truly Board Eligible (0-5 years upon residency completion).
  • Active WA license – WA [HIGHLY PREFERRED] or IMLC (LOQ in hand at time of submission and uploaded) will consider non licensed but license will need to be issued by 
  • Active ACLS, BLS, DEA – ACLS, BLS DEA [REQUIRED] - will consider a candidate that does not have ACLS or BLS in hand but will obtain if selected.
  • Candidates must be able to cover about 80% of the dates detailed (3-4 weeks) and must detail the specific dates the provider can cover through Feb 2026 – [REQUIRED] 
  • Candidates must detail the specific blackout dates – [REQUIRED] 
  • Candidates must list the # of shifts per month ongoing they can offer to the site – [REQUIRED] 
  • Clean Malpractice – [HIGHLY PREFERRED] 
  • Self-Query NPDB report is mandatory at the time of presentation. The Self-Query NPDB report must be dated within 30 days of the presentation date. - [REQUIRED]
