Locum Pediatric Hospitalist/Newborn Care - Call Coverage (VA License Required)

Schedule: Upwards of 15 days per month of 24-hour call coverage (7:00 AM to 7:00 AM). Specific dates will be determined based on hospital needs and provider availability.

About the Opportunity:

Hospital in Virginia has an urgent need for a qualified Pediatric Hospitalist with a focus on newborn care to provide call coverage beginning around June 16, 2025, and continuing on an ongoing basis. We require a provider who can obtain emergency privileges quickly, necessitating an active Virginia (VA) medical license and a clean professional history. This is a call-only position requiring coverage for approximately 15 days per month.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing 24-hour on-call coverage for pediatric and newborn needs from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM for the assigned dates.
• Seeing all babies born at the hospital.
• Providing C-section coverage.
• Performing pediatric consults in the Emergency Department (ED) as requested.
• Facilitating patient transfers to other facilities when necessary.
• Admitting patients to the pediatric unit.
• Collaborating effectively with nursing and other hospital staff.

Urgent Requirement: Must have an active Virginia (VA) medical license and a clean professional history to facilitate emergency privileging.

Coverage Need: Upwards of 15 days per month.

Call Schedule: 24-hour call coverage, 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM.

Patient Focus: All newborns, general pediatric consults.
