We are seeking a Board Certified Pulmonologist / Critical Care Physician to provide targeted weekend and week-long inpatient call coverage at a facility in Texas. This assignment consists of high-yield, pure-call blocks—including a premium coverage block over Labor Day weekend. The role features an exceptionally fast onboarding process and strong potential to morph into a recurring monthly rotation.
??Target Dates & Fixed Call Blocks
The facility requires continuous 24-hour beeper call coverage across the following specific fall windows:
- Block 1 (Labor Day Weekend): September 4 (7:00 AM) – September 8 (7:00 AM)
- Block 2 (Week Block): September 25 (7:00 AM) – October 2 (7:00 AM)
- Block 3 (Weekend Block): October 16 (7:00 AM) – October 20 (7:00 AM)
- Block 4 (Halloween Block): October 30 (7:00 AM) – November 4 (7:00 AM)
Long-Term Outlook: While future dates are not yet finalized, the facility anticipates a recurring need for one week of coverage per month throughout the remainder of 2026.
Scope of Practice
- Duties: 24-hour critical care consults, rounding in the ICU, managing ventilator-dependent patients, code response, and emergent pulmonary evaluations.
- Setting: Inpatient ICU and acute care consults only. Zero standard outpatient clinic responsibilities.
Requirements
- Certification: Board Certified (BC) Only in Pulmonary Disease and/or Critical Care Medicine.
- Licensure: Active Texas (TX) Medical License or an active, assignment-ready IMLC passport.
- Life Support: Active BLS, ACLS, ATLS, ABLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory.
