URGENT LOCUM TENENS: General Surgery - Outpatient/OR Focus (Pennsylvania)
We are urgently seeking a Board-Certified (BC) or Board-Eligible (BE) General Surgeon for dedicated, recurring clinic and OR coverage at a small, rural Critical Access Hospital in Pennsylvania. This role offers the highly desirable No Call schedule.
Assignment Details
- Specialty: Surgery - General
- Start Date: December 29, 2025 (ASAP once credentialed)
- End Date: Ongoing
- Coverage Type: Clinic Only (Office and OR)
- Call Requirement: No Call (Overnight calls are transferred to Hamot).
- EMR: Thrive
- Credentialing Timeline: 60 Days
Schedule & Commitment
- Commitment: One week per month is the required coverage need.
- Daily Schedule: 8-hour worked days (flexible on schedule).
- Flexibility: The facility is highly flexible and will work with the provider to accommodate coverage options.
Scope of Work & Workload
The role requires a surgeon comfortable with bread-and-butter General Surgery and endoscopy.

- Scope Requirements: Upper or lower scopes (endoscopies) are both required.
- Facility: Very small, rural hospital with 14 inpatient beds. Classified as a Critical Access Hospital as of Jan 2025.
- Support: No APP/Mid-Level coverage available.
- Trauma Level: Level IV Trauma.
Requirements & License
- Certification: Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE).
- License: Must have an Active Pennsylvania (PA) License or be eligible/licensed via IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact) for an ASAP start.
- Note: Candidates without an active PA license or IMLC qualification cannot be presented at this time.
