Cardiovascular Surgery Locum Opportunity in Pennsylvania

Coverage Need Details

Call and rounding for one Friday - Monday AM stretch per month. Sometimes needs will fall during the weekdays so please submit locums that have flexibility in their schedule.

*Site can build the call schedule based on availability.

Night Call 5p-8a

8a-8a 24hr Call

*APP takes office and non-urgent calls.

* Must be able to respond to emergencies when taking call.

Other Specialties onsite: Thoracic and Vascular surgery, as well as general and trauma surgery

*24-hour call-only position, no clinic.

*Is call taken onsite or offsite from hotel? Can be taken offsite

*Is the physician the sole provider on call? Yes, but APPs take floor call

*Are providers required to harvest endovein and/or perform open/close for open-heart procedures? APPs are available for OR support

*Average # of calls when on call? 1 (APPs take first call for all but ICU, ED and transfers)

*Will the physician be expected to act as a Surgical First Assist? No

*How many operating rooms are dedicated to cardiac surgery? 2 rooms per day on most days

*These cases are performed at the site, but elective cases will be managed by employed attendings. Cases can also be transferred to Pittsburgh hospital when appropriate Specific procedures are commonly performed:

• Aortic Valve Replacements
• CABG
• TAVR
• Aortic Aneurysm Repair
• Heart Valve Surgery
• MitraClip
• PFO Closure
