Anesthesiologist - Ongoing Opportunity


??We are seeking a Board Certified (BC) Anesthesiologist for a full-time, ongoing opportunity starting October 1, 2025. This role requires strong obstetrics experience and involves supporting a diverse surgical schedule across multiple locations.


Opportunity Highlights

  • Coverage Type: Clinic Only
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (5 shifts per week).
  • Work Environment:
  • You will be one of two providers primarily supporting the elective surgical schedule.
  • This is a large hospital system with 11 locations, including a main OR, surgery center, and Labor & Delivery (L&D).
  • We have 165 beds in the main hospital, 7 ORs in the main hospital, and 3 ORs at the surgery center.
  • Responsibilities:
  • You will rotate between the main OR, surgery center, and L&D.
  • The primary focus will be on the elective surgical schedule, but you will also assist with overflow and emergent procedures.
  • You will specifically assist in covering L&D for C-sections and placing spinals.
  • The rotation frequency is approximately 80% in the main OR, 15% at the surgery center, and 5% in L&D.
  • Case Mix & Supervision:
  • Our daily case volume is approximately 25 cases per day.
  • The patient mix is roughly 10% inpatient and 90% outpatient.
  • This is a 100% medical supervision model.
  • EMR System: We utilize Epic for our electronic medical records.


Requirements

  • Minimum Board Certification: Board Certified (BC) in Anesthesiology.
  • Experience: Obstetrics experience is required, specifically assisting with C-sections and placing spinals.
  • Credentialing: We will also consider providers who are already credentialed at other UPMC sites.
