Locum Anesthesiologist - Academic Practice (No Call)
?About the Opportunity:
A prestigious academic practice is seeking multiple dedicated Anesthesiologists (both Adult and Pediatrics) for ongoing locum coverage. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a stimulating academic environment, providing anesthesia services for a diverse range of cases with no on-call responsibilities. You will be involved in a mix of solo cases, medically directing CRNAs, and supervising residents.
We have needs for:
- Two (2) Adult Anesthesiologists
- Two (2) Pediatric Anesthesiologists
Case Types Include:
- General Anesthesiology
- Urology
- ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat)
- Plastics
- Vascular
Cases NOT Included:
- Hearts (Cardiothoracic)
- Complex Neuro (Neurosurgery)
- OBGYN (Obstetrics and Gynecology)
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing anesthesia services for the case types listed above.
- Working in a mix of solo anesthesia cases.
- Medically directing Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).
- Supervising and teaching Anesthesiology residents.
- Performing pre-anesthesia evaluations.
- Developing and implementing anesthesia care plans.
- Administering and monitoring anesthesia.
- Managing post-anesthesia care in the immediate post-operative period.
- Collaborating effectively with surgeons, residents, CRNAs, nurses, and other medical staff.
- Maintaining accurate and timely patient records in the Cerner EMR system.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified (BC) in Anesthesiology.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in PA
- Experience in providing anesthesia for the listed case types.
- Experience in an academic medical center setting is desirable.
- Comfort with medically directing CRNAs and supervising residents.
- Strong clinical and teaching skills.
Coverage Needs:
- Two (2) Adult Anesthesiologists
- Two (2) Pediatric Anesthesiologists
- Ongoing coverage through December 31, 2026.
Call Responsibilities: No call coverage is required for this position.
