Orthopedics Locum Opportunity in New Mexico

We are seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon for an ongoing assignment in New Mexico. This role offers a highly structured rotation, sharing responsibilities with another locum provider to ensure a sustainable work-life balance.

?Assignment Timeline & Onboarding

• Start Date: March 1, 2026
• End Date: Ongoing
• Credentialing: Express 30-Day Window

Schedule & Clinical Scope

• Rotation: 7 days on / 7 days off
• Typical Week: * 3 Days: Outpatient Clinic (20–25 patients per day)
• 2 Days: Operating Room (Based on procedural volume)
• Call Coverage: Required every other week (shared with one other locum provider).
• Call Intensity: Minimal call-back. Most patients are admitted to the Hospitalist service and evaluated by Ortho the following day.

Facility & Support

• Trauma Level: Level 3 Trauma Center
• Support Staff: Full Clinic staff and 24/7 Anesthesia coverage available.
• EMR: Medhost

Requirements

• Licensure: Active New Mexico (NM) Medical License.
• Certification: Board Eligible (BE) or Board Certified (BC) in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Mandatory Life Support: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS are all required.
