Hospitalist Locum Job in Grand Island, NE
SCHEDULE :
- 7a-7p 7 on/7 off or 14 straight
JOB DESCRIPTION :
- FTE: 2.0
- Required Procedures: none
- Support Staff: Remote admin support (is on site typically once per week during the day). APP during the day/night
- Reason for Coverage: Resignations; open positions not filled yet
- Local providers preferred
Additional Details / Questions Answered by Facility:
- Must be comfortable in an ICU-it is an open ICU.
- We have intensivists, the ICU is open. We co-manage patients. Not expected to run a vent or do procedures. Do not have to intubate or do central lines
- 3 MD’s rounding during the day. One APP from 9a-5p, Mon-Fri, helping the on-call provider.
- No dedicated admitting provider, on-call provider sees 2-3 patients more than other providers on their call day. He or she will receive help from the other rounders.
- We do not follow the traditional round and leave system, you are still expected to cover your patients, attend rapid responses, and talk to families if they request a provider.
- First day info: Will set up a brief orientation the day before their first shift. Will need to set up EPIC training if needed (can do remotely before or the day before). Can send an itinerary with details later.

1. Are codes required - Yes, you’re expected to attend if in house.
2. Do you have an inhouse intensivist - We have intensivists, the ICU is open. We co-manage patients. Not expected to run a vent or do procedure
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS :
- Board Certified or truly Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) – Required
- NE License or IMLC (LOQ in hand) – Required
- Residency Requirements/Fellowship – Internal Med residency preferred; Fam Med ok if has experience working as a hospitalist – Required
- ACLS, DEA, BLS – Required
- Malpractice – Clean Preferred
- Availability at time of name clear – Required
