Description

Facility is looking for locum IR coverage. Client needs IR general (stroke capabilities are preferred but not required). The coverage is an 8 hour day, generally anywhere between 8a-4p with evening call 4p-8a, and 24 hour call on the weekends.


Average Callback Hours: Weekday: 2.5 hours; Weekend: 1.3 hours


Schedule/Availability Requirements:

Ongoing dates will be available for 2026 starting in March, possible February

8a-4p with evening call 4p-8a, and 24 hour call on the weekends

• Current list of procedures that our IR team performs:

• Diagnostic vascular intervention

· Angiography – venous and arterial

• Therapeutic vascular intervention

· Angioplasty – venous and arterial

· Stenting (venous and arterial)

· Thrombolytic therapy

· Embolization therapy

• Interventional (body, non-neuro)

• Vascular access devices/PICCS

• Central lines

• Port a cath insertions

• IVC Filters

• TIPS

• Aspiration/drainage procedures

• Percutaneous Needle Biopsies (Above & Below diaphragm, and Bone)

• Extractions (Biliary & Renal)

• Abscess drainage

• Thoracentesis

• Paracentesis

• Myelopgraphy

• Pain management procedures

• Perc. Transhepatic Choleangiogram

• Blood patch

• Joint/epidural injections

• Vertebroplasty

• Arthrograms

• Chest tube insertion

• Uterine artery embolization

• Liver Y90/Tace

• Gastrostomy tube insertion

• Nephrostomy/ureteral stent insertion

• Renal fistulograms,

• Cryoablation

  • Preferred but not required: Neuro (head) stroke thrombectomy

EMR: Epic

Deal breakers:  Client needs a provider with IR general experience. Stroke capability would be secondary but must be able to perform the list of general IR procedures first.

  • Will the provider need to be willing to read diagnostics in between IR cases?  No
  • What is the avg # of procedures done in the 8 hr on-site day shift?  Varies from 10-15
  • How often should they expect to call back during the weekday and weekend call shifts? VAries due to certain circumstances, normally only comes in for emergencies
  • With the start date of 8/15 will temp privs be granted or is standard cred process required?  Will need an ND license, will need to fill out the credentialing paperwork and enrollment paperwork prior 

Reason for coverage: Current locums will be taking 6 month break

  • Billing enrollment - Is this position providing services in lieu of an existing enrolled provider for a period of 60 days or less?: No


Submission Requirements

  • Board Certified - [Required]
  • ND license or IMLC - [REQUIRED]
  • Residency/Fellowship – [Required]
  • ACLS, BLS - [REQUIRED]
  • Malpractice – [Clean Preferred]
  • Availability at time of name clear – [Required]
  • Must have experience with all required procedures **Procedure list must be completed using 'Yes' or 'No' responses—'Yes' indicating that the provider has completed the procedure, and 'No' indicating that they have not. Also required that this be added in the note section of the submission** - [REQUIRED]
  • The Self-Query NPDB report must be dated within 30 days of the presentation date. - [REQUIRED]
