Assignment Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified Board Certified General Surgeon for two dedicated weekend call blocks in North Carolina. This position requires a "clean background" candidate who is already fully credentialed within the state’s medical networks.


???Key Dates & Schedule

  • Block 1: July 10, 2026 (7:00 AM) – July 13, 2026 (7:00 AM)
  • Block 2: July 24, 2026 (7:00 AM) – July 27, 2026 (7:00 AM)
  • Shift Structure: 24-hour call. Please note: 4 hours of gratis time is required daily (preferred in bulk).


Clinical Scope & Requirements

  • Procedures: Standard "Bread & Butter" General Surgery including Hernia repair, Cholecystectomy, Breast surgery, Lumps/Bumps, Abscess drainage, Appendectomy, Small bowel/Colon surgery, and Endoscopy (EGD and Colonoscopy).
  • Response Time: Per bylaws, the physician must remain within 20 minutes of the facility while on call.
  • EMR: MediTech 6.1.


Qualifications & Mandatory Credentials

  • Certification: Board Certification (BC) is required.
  • Background: Clean background highly preferred. No recent or open malpractice cases. Full disclosure of any disciplinary history is required for consideration.
  • Licensure: Active NC License and NC DEA (must have a North Carolina address).


Logistics & Onboarding

  • Housing: On-site hospital-owned apartments are provided and preferred.
  • Credentialing: Expedited 14-day timeline.
