Orthopedics Locum Opportunity in North Carolina

We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon to step in for an urgent holiday weekend call block this September due to a last-minute cancellation. This assignment features strong Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support, with Physician Assistants taking primary call.

Position Overview

• Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery
• Start Date: September 4, 2026 (@ 7:00 AM)
• End Date: September 7, 2026 (@ 7:00 AM)
• Coverage Type: Call Only (24-Hour Continuous Call Blocks: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Reason for Need: Urgent back-fill for a previous provider cancellation over Labor Day weekend.

?Clinical Scope & Workflow

• Primary Call Structure: Physician Assistants (PAs) handle primary call. The locum surgeon will only be called in when direct surgical intervention or complex case assistance is required.
• Coverage Duties: Emergency department consults, inpatient rounding, and acute surgical procedures during call hours.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Board Certification: Board Certified (BC) in Orthopedic Surgery required.
• Licensure: Active North Carolina (NC) medical license.
• Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support).

Practice & Facility Details

• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Epic
• Credentialing Window: 90 Days (Expedited/emergency processing available for this immediate urgent need).
