Hospitalist Coverage Opportunity (Adult, Pediatric, and Newborn Nursery)
Dates & Schedule:
June 1–4 | Night Shift: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Hospitalist to provide comprehensive overnight coverage for adult, pediatric, and newborn nursery patients. The provider will manage admissions, rounding, and respond to hospital codes in an open ICU setting, working collaboratively with another provider.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient care for adult, pediatric, and newborn populations
- Perform admissions and overnight rounding
- Respond promptly to hospital codes
- Manage ventilators and perform required procedures
- Collaborate with consulting specialists, including cardiology, nephrology, and oncology
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina medical license
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 3 years of residency completion)
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Med/Peds
Clinical Details:
- Patient Census: 30–35 (shared with another provider)
- ICU Type: Open ICU
- EMR System: Meditech
- Night Coverage: One physician handling rounding and admissions
Procedures:
- Required: Ventilator management, intubations, EKG interpretation
- Preferred: Central line placement, arterial line placement, elective cardioversion, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, suturing of minor lacerations, incision and drainage
