Description

Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Rheumatologist with fellowship training to provide adult and geriatric care to join their team!

Hospital is looking for a provider to start as soon as credentialed to provide adult and geriatric care, including joint aspirations and injections, supported by MA, RN, and front desk staff. Locum coverage with clinic shifts (4×10 or 5×8) plus 24-hour hospital call two weeks per month (1:2 ratio).


Job Description:

Position: Locum Rheumatologist

Specialty: Rheumatology

Practice Setting: Office Clinic with Hospital-Based Call

Schedule: 4×10-hour shifts or 5×8-hour shifts (Clinic)

Call Requirements: 24-hour hospital call, Tuesday–Monday, 2 weeks per month (1:2 call ratio)

Coverage Duration: ASAP – Ongoing- Reason for coverage is current vacancy. They need someone starting Feb 1, they understand that with the current credentialing timeline, it will be closer to April as a start date.

Patient Load:

Office/Clinic: 16–18 patients per day

Hospital-based: 1 case per day


Credentialing Timeframe: 90-120 days

Travel/Reimbursement: Prefer local providers but will consider Flight, hotel, rental car, and mileage reimbursement.


Submission Requirements

Board Certified in Rheumatology – [REQUIRED]

Michigan medical license – [REQUIRED]

Fellowship-trained in Rheumatology – [REQUIRED]

BLS certification – [REQUIRED]

Ability to perform clinic and hospital-based rheumatology procedures, including joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections – [REQUIRED]

Familiarity with Epic EMR system – [PREFERRED]
