JOB DESCRIPTION :  

Details:

  • date of coverage: ASAP - December 2026
  • Practice Setting: 24-hour Trauma Call (ACS Verified Level One Trauma Center)
  • Shift Schedule: 0700a – 0700a
  • Reason for Coverage: Insufficient local hand coverage for 24/7/365 needs about 19 days a month
  • Call Ratio: Negotiable
  • Patient Demographics: Ages 15 years and older (adolescent through geriatric)
  • Number of Plastic Surgeon in Practice: 1 (Hand coverage), 1 community provider (Plastics), 2 hospital employed (Ortho Hand)

Case Volume:

  • Average: 1 surgical case per month
  • Summer months: Approximately 3 per month
  • Annual ER Volume: 90,000

Clinic Responsibilities:

  • In-person response when procedures are required
  • Supported through Trauma Clinic: Tuesdays, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM; SPB Suite 600

Required Procedures:

  • Hand-related procedures
  • Traumatic hand reconstruction
  • General plastic surgery procedures including Facial laceration repair, Scar revisions, Skin grafts, Flaps
  • Minor burn care

Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: ASAP

Submission Requirements

ALL MUST BE NOTATED AT TIME OF NAME CLEAR

  • Board Certified in Plastic Surgery (Boarded within 5 years of training) - [REQUIRED], no BE even TRULY BE
  • Active MI license - [REQUIRED], will not accept willing to obtain- Must be FULL LICENSE - no compact or IMLC
  • BLS and ACLS - [HIGLY PREFFERED]
  • Self-Query NPDB (Should be pulled within the month) [REQUIRED] at time of presentation.
